Being fit and healthy doesn't just happen overnight, it takes commitment and perseverance, but here are '7 Habits Of Fit People' which may help you along the way.
1. KEEP IT REAL - Having an understanding that Rome wasn't built in a day can really help to keep you level headed, break your goals down into smaller manageable chunks and reap the feeling of achievement along the way. Also be realistic not all of us are going to be astronauts, yes push your limits but also be realistic in your ability/availability.
2. DONT PUT IT OFF UNTIL MONDAY - We have all heard time and time again 'Ill start next week' but why not now, now is as good of a time as any.
3. ENTER AN EVENT - Look for a local race or challenge, take yourself out of your comfort zone and get something in the diary, just doing this simple act may be the thing which gets you off the sofa and out the door.
4. PAIR UP - Find a workout buddy, it is all too simple to let yourself down but knowing someone else is counting on you is a different matter.
5. SET GOALS/DATES - Have a time frame, make your goals measurable.
6. ENLIST A PROFESSIONAL - Whether you are a gym veteran or new to exercise sometimes having a 'Personal Trainer' to help get you towards to goals will make the difference between hitting a plateau or that washboard stomach.
7. DO NOT EXERCISE - The word exercise alone can send shivers down your spine, change this mindset, look at exercise as a lifestyle not something which is forced. If you don't want to join a gym take up jogging, find something of which you enjoy and there will be a higher likelihood that you will stick to it.
