Stress Reduction / Control | Cirencester Personal Trainer

*** Stress Reduction / Control ***

This year the mental health institute reported 50% increase in stress/anxiety/depression throughout the United Kingdom, with this rise we as trainers working within an industry based on the relationships between clients (most becoming good friends), have to stand tall and aid with the fight against this matter.

Throughout this article I shall mainly be discussing stress reduction/control techniques which I have found beneficial for my clients, many of which in highly demanding job roles, from managing directors of large corporate companies to people of celebrity status having to deal with being in the public eye.

As most already know exercise is a fantastic tool for stress reduction, but here are some techniques which I have used daily and have passed on to friends, family and clients as of which they have found useful.

Crystallisation

You may be thinking I am talking about going to your local gift shop and purchasing a beautifully coloured stone to increase the chances of love, money and good health, you are wrong. Crystallisation is a technique which many mental health therapists use to allow clients to release negative thoughts onto paper in such a way each becomes a separate entity, by doing this daily tasks become more controllable and stressful issues are released to return to at a time more suited.

Meditation

Meditation is an extremely useful tool to find peace within a hectic lifestyle, culture today runs on the understanding we wake up, go to work, come home, eat and then go to sleep ready to repeat the next day, giving zero time to relax, unwind and find time for ourselves. Take ten minutes to be with your thoughts, no noise, no lighting just spend time within your inner mind.

Self Investment

Have you ever wanted to learn a new language, a musical instrument or even take up a new sport, by investing time in yourself instead of social media and television you can gain enormous self gratification, which in-turn increases self confidence, reduces stress and improves your self belief. Let your actions speak louder than your words, if you've always wanted todo something, do it, go out by a book on '10 Tips to becoming an international speed skater' if that what you want to become, if your are to ask any top level athlete, business owner how the got to where they are, each would give the same answer HARD WORK AND GRAFT, these people haven't time to look on twitter and Facebook, they haven't time to sit watching the coronation street reruns as they are working to become better and continually progressing.

Use these strategies as you will but remember to take control of your life and don't let life control you.
