I love my personal fitness trainer sessions with Leigh.  Specifically:

 

  1. Leigh puts a lot of effort in to pre planning the best exercise for the sessions we have together and has worked out what we are doing ahead of time;

  2. No session is the same which is great if you have a short attention span like me as it keeps me interested and on my toes, literally;

  3. Leigh pushes me hard to deliver the maximum fitness levels I can whilst appreciating the art of the possible;

  4. The personal gym within cirencester which Leigh works in is a great space to get away from it all and focus solely on pushing yourself to achieve your fitness goals.  I’ve not worked out in a personal training gym before but this has been a real plus for me in terms of ‘getting away from it all’ as a busy working mum.

  5. Leigh ensures that our sessions are fun and comes with a good sense of humour to make all the hard work really enjoyable.

"I came to Leigh when I was recovering from a serious rugby injury and gradually getting back on my feet after an operation to both knees - after playing rugby for nearly twenty years and always being in reasonable shape, an 18 month lay off had seen me let myself go and I was struggling to get the motivation and kick start I needed to lose the weight I had put on.  Being a prop forward I have always been big, but just after my 30th birthday I was over 17 stone and it was time I did something about it. Even though I kind of knew what I needed to do, something was missing - turns out that something was Leigh!  Before we did anything Leigh took the time to get to know me as a person, to understand my goals, my history and my motivations - Leigh soon learnt how to press the right buttons to get the best out of me whilst devising a unique programme to match my goals, whilst ensuring this was aligned to my limitations from the injury recovery. Leigh worked hard learning how much he could push me and recognised my potential - at no point did he patronise me, nor did he push me to a point beyond my limits which would negatively affect confidence or motivation.   By doing this Leigh highlighted to me what was truly achievable and I began to push myself in the gym outside of my sessions with Leigh, his experience and advice was having an impact on a much wider scale than just the weekly session. Part of the reason for this was that Leigh would keep in touch via calls, emails and texts - ensuring my diet was clean and I was in the gym between sessions. This really kept me motivated and with my eye on the goal. As well as being a superb trainer, coach and motivator; Leigh is also a great guy who I would now consider a friend. Leigh helped with wider issues than just weight and health. Leigh took in to account every aspect of my personal life at the time, which I was willing to share with him without him judging, but listening and tailoring training sessions to my mood, motivation and circumstances. This was something I really admired and one of the things that clearly helped me along the road I was traveling.  Within my first 5 weeks with Leigh I had already dropped a stone and continued to change shape and feel happier, more confident and energised - gradually seeing those goals we had set together getting closer.  Leigh soon learnt that from my rugby playing days I had developed a rather large and varied vocabulary of insults and profanities - he never took offence and only used this as a way to push me further, although I'm sure these sessions got harder the worse I got. But this is yet another testament to how comfortable I was made to feel with Leigh. I have now moved away from the area and relocated - whilst one of the things I miss is living in the beautiful Cotswold’s, I also miss having Leigh as a personal trainer.  Since moving away I have taken the work which Leigh and I had started together and tried to build on this. I have not yet signed up to a new personal trainer in my new area, although I still use some of the invaluable methods, techniques and routines that Leigh had shown me. I am now comfortable with where I am weight and health wise, I feel more confident, full of energy and extremely happy; this is thanks to the work and foundations which Leigh put in to place. I wonder how much further along I would be had I stayed in the area!  I would recommend Leigh as a personal trainer to anyone, whatever your fitness, health or weight goals may be - this guy could turn a tanker around!
