Personal Trainer / Working Personal Trainer | Fitness | Cirencester Personal Trainer
What is the difference between a 'Personal Trainer' and an actual 'Working Personal Trainer'.
We are in an industry which is on the decline, not for the lack of work but for the constant influx of new trainers, fresh out the box from the month long online courses which cost less than a good night out with friends. These courses are allowing for many to become fully qualified without ever actually stepping foot in a gym, without the knowledge and experience needed to work with the vast majority of the clientele who enlist the help of a fitness professional.
Back to the original question, what is the difference between a 'Personal Trainer' and a 'Working Personal Trainer':
1. A working personal trainer actually makes a living from personal training, not posting pictures and videos on Instagram of how great their own session was in the gym but actually working face to face with clients throughout the day not leaving enough time for an obligatory bicep pose.
2. 07:00 becomes a lie-in, a working personal training will usually be having to fit around many diaries, meaning a 05:00 alarm becomes the norm. Early starts and late nights are the one thing which was never explained when receiving your qualifications.
3. A working personal trainer put the clients session first, not getting your own workout in and calling it demonstrating.
4. Social time becomes sacred. If you are actually working as a personal trainer your social time with become vary limited, putting in those evening hours finishing at 21:00 only to have to wake up the next morning at the crack of dawn doesn't allow for a mid-week catch up.
