Personal training ramble:
Living in Cirencester, the heart of the Cotswolds, we am extremely lucky to have an abundance of running trail to train personal training clients, either it be steady state distance work around the Bathurst estate to get those extra miles in or hill work utilising the amphitheatre in Chesterton, there is something for all abilities, not to forget the friendly wildlife you may encounter along the way.
Benefits for training outdoors:
1. Escape the indoors – Research shows we spend 90% of our time indoors and leading a sedentary lifestyle. Getting outside can also be social, join one of the local bike clubs (Ride 24/7 in the Woolmarket or Performance Cyclesin Poulton) both offering something for all levels and abilities, allowing you to make friends whilst training.
2. Boost Serotonin Levels - Exposure to the outdoors helps boost serotonin levels. Serotonin helps you feel calm, alert and capable.
3. Exercise Variety – Training outside allows you to be able to perform certain exercises which simple are not possible indoors. With the new outdoor gyms which the Cirencester council has provided in various locations, Watermoor School, City Bank field and the Four Acres field this is now an even great option for those summer months.
4. Increase Levels of Vitamin D – Sunlight supplies the body with vitamin D, vitamin D helps with the absorption of Calcium which helps to build strong bones.
5. Fitness Classes - In the summer months there are personal trainers offering various exercises classes in Cirencester to try in outdoor locations, these include yoga, bootcamps and many more, have a chat to Everyone Active Cotswoldson Tetbury Road for further information.
Lace up those trainers and go hit some trail or clip up that helmet and get on your bike.
Enjoy
