Banish The Christmas Belly | Fitness | Cirencester Personal Trainer

'Top Tips' to banish that Christmas belly.

Lets start with a joke: I fainted at the curry house when I heard REM had split up. Now thats the holidays are over allot of people will be thinking about getting bak on track with healthy and fitness, so here are some tips to help along the way.

- Increase 'WATER' intake by an extra 1litre a-day. The extra water will re-vitalise the body, detoxify the liver and seeing as our body is made up of 99% water it will aid in recovery, hydration is key. - Eat in a restricted window, from your first cup of coffee until your last food or drink (other than water), keep it within 10-12hrs. This will help with calorie control, gives your body a chance to repair itself and helps to recalibrate your circadian rhythm.

- Take a 'GOOD' one-a-day multi vitamin and mineral. With our western diet, pollution and the use of multiple pesticides we no longer receive all of the essential vitamins and minerals we need for healthy bodily function. - Use your fitness, get outside. Go for a walk with friends and family or take the dog out twice a day. This will hugely increase your activity levels, metabolic rate, and afford more quality time with family. (Leave the phone at home) - Commit to a training partner or personal trainer. Pick a specific day/time you are going to meet at the gym/for a session and hold each other accountable.

- Relax. Within society today we have so many distractions which make it impossible to actually relax, so I put it to you, from here forward take time out of your day, even if it means putting it in the diary, to turn off your phone, switch the television off (not just standby) and spend time within your mind, clear all your thoughts and RELAX.
