5 Things To Do Before Every Workout

1. Goal Setting.

Make sure that you go into every workout with a goal in mind, it doesn't have to be a huge just have an objective for that workout.

2. Eat Something.

Before you train you need to fuel your body. Your meal before the gym should give you enough time to fully digest, so think about how long it take for your metabolism to get through a plate of food. Have a meal with a 2:1 breakdown of protein to carbs. Also, in the 30 minutes before your workout have a coffee (no sugar) and, or a banana. You will now be primed and ready for a savage workout…

3. Setup A Playlist.

Research has shown that you can significantly affect your workout by training to music that motivates you. Those extra reps, that kilo or two extra weight and that set can make the difference and the music you choose can help you get there.

4. Hydrate.

It’s a well known fact that your body is mostly made of water. So, if you are poorly hydrated you will not get your muscles to work let alone perform to their best.

5. Warm Up.

If you are impatient, start your workout with 2-3 sets of light weights that will get blood flowing to the active and supporting muscles groups that you are about to train. If you can spend the time doing a stationary stretch then this is a good idea too. If you skip this step then get ready to take huge chunks of time off from training while your body heals injuries!
